Burnout can make you dread the next day, and the weekend just doesn’t feel restful enough.
Not only work
The source of burnout can be work, but it can also be caregiving, parenting, and generally holding too much.
More than tired
Burnout can sap the joy out of life, making you feel more detached, withdrawn and numb. It can show up as exhaustion, overwhelm, or panic.
A boundary from the inside
Burnout is our bodies forcing us to listen. It is a boundary that comes from the inside, and it says you cannot go on like this.
Burnout cannot be solved by pushing through and working harder. Together, rather than letting your body set boundaries through exhaustion and overwhelm, you can learn to set them yourself.
A space away from demands
Therapy is a space away from demands, expectations and assumptions. In this room we are able to go deeper into core feelings, emotions and beliefs.
Clarity and choice
Therapy for burnout can help you get clearer about what you are choosing, what matters most to you, and what those priorities cost you.
Sometimes that clarity leads to larger changes when you realise the life you are living no longer reflects what you want. Other times, you may decide that the priority is still worth choosing, and the work becomes finding ways to make that life more sustainable and restorative.
When the situation itself cannot easily change, therapy can also make space for grief, acceptance, and the agency that is still available.
The goal is not always to eliminate the demands of your life, but to relate to them with greater clarity, choice, and less internal conflict.
Hi, I’m Dhespina!
I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, and therapy with me is exploratory and collaborative, with room for reflection, humour, and unexpected moments of insight. I support you in reconnecting with the part of yourself that knows what you need and how you want to heal, even when that part feels difficult to access.
I have trained in Gestalt, Internal Family Systems, and Hakomi Therapy. My approach is relational, somatic, and trauma-informed. This means I do not see therapy as simply a place to talk, but as a space where you can experience new feelings, perspectives, and ways of relating to yourself and others.
My fee is $200 on a sliding scale down to $120. I also hold 2 low-fee slots at $60 for people facing financial difficulty from unemployment or being a student. If cost is a barrier, please ask.
In the first fifteen minutes, you can tell me a little about what’s bringing you to therapy now, we can get a sense of whether working together feels right, and you can ask any questions you have.
